// BASE
WHERE IT HAPPENS.
WHO RUNS IT.
CAMP VERTEX runs out of Skyfall Reserve, an hour south of Dallas. Three people run every camp: a world-champion BJJ black belt and two retired Navy SEALs. No rotating cast. No celebrity drop-ins.
// THE PLACE
Skyfall sits in the Trinity River bottoms in Trinidad, Texas. East of I-45, an hour straight south of downtown Dallas. Low oaks. River bottoms. Dirt roads that wind back into the trees. Dawns that fog up before they burn off.
It is a working hunting estate. Waterfowl in the winter, whitetail in November, dove all summer. It is also a private training facility. Long-range bays out to 500. Tactical bays for movement and transition drills. A purpose-built mat room. World-class lodging. Food that takes the camp from "endurance event" to "thing you'll remember."
You will not be cold. You will not be hungry. The rest is up to you.

// THE PEOPLE
THE SAME THREE. EVERY CAMP.
// 01 · PEDRO ROCHA
PEDRO ROCHA.
Pedro Rocha started wrestling in Brazil before he could spell jiu-jitsu. He came up through the freestyle ranks, served as a Brazilian Navy officer, and ended up where the best grapplers always end up: on a mat in Texas, teaching for a living.
He has won every major title in jiu-jitsu that exists. Worlds. Pan-Ams. Brazilian Nationals. Multiple times. The trophies are at 413; the techniques are on the mats at every CAMP VERTEX.
What separates Pedro is not the trophies. It's the way he teaches. He doesn't show you a move; he shows you the failure mode of the move and works backward. By the end of a single block you'll know not just what to do but what you're trying to prevent. That's the entire game.

// 02 · TERRY HOUIN
TERRY HOUIN.
Terry Houin enlisted in the Navy in the early 90s, made it through BUD/S, and spent 26 years on a SEAL team. He retired as a Master Chief, which is the highest enlisted rank a Navy SEAL can hold. There are not very many of them.
Over the course of his career he qualified as a sniper, a breacher, a comms specialist, an explosives breacher, and a survival instructor. He has run ranges. He has run leadership pipelines. He has run training cycles for active-duty SEAL platoons.
At CAMP VERTEX he is the senior range authority. Every block on the line goes through him. Calmer, lower-stakes, no rotations to a deployment afterward. But the structure is the same.

// 03 · BRANDON TUCKER
BRANDON “TUCK” TUCKER.
Brandon Tucker. Tuck on the team. Spent 11 years on SEAL Team 4. Five combat deployments. Three theatres of war. He came up as a recon team leader and qualified as a sniper, which means he was the guy you sent out before anyone else got there.
Tuck is a working operator's operator. He doesn't tell stories. Not the war kind, not the bar kind. He shows up, runs his blocks, fixes your shooting, takes everyone out into the dark on Saturday night, and brings everyone back. That's the job.
He believes shooting is mostly about not screwing up basic things. Sight picture. Trigger press. Where your feet are. Whether you flinch. He'll fix the screwups in order of severity, then he'll work on speed.
